After decades in the upstate New York music scene as a founding member of the Saratoga Springs, NY based indie-rock band Dryer and the Sixfifteens, Bobby Carlton is stepping into the spotlight with his first solo release under the moniker The Darkk Llord. His debut single, “Brand New Day,” is a fuzzed-out, guitar-driven love song that channels the spirit of 90s and early 2000s alternative rock.
Brand New Day was recorded at his home and mixed by his longtime bandmate from Dryer, Brian Akey. The single marks the beginning of a new chapter, leading up to an EP release this summer and a full-length album by the end of 2025.
For fans of Sloan, Guided by Voices, Waxahatchee, Soccer Mommy, and Teenage Fanclub, Carlton’s solo work promises the same heartfelt, hook-laden songwriting that made Dryer a standout in the indie-rock world.
